Nothing is reportedly in the works for a new high-end version of its over-ear headphones. Named the Nothing Headphone (1) Pro, these headphones have popped up in a recent leak that gives us a glimpse of their design, color choices, and some notable features.

Transparent design with a new finish
The Headphone (1) Pro is rumored to stick with the transparent design that Nothing has become known for in its products. However, this Pro version is expected to feature a frosted finish on some of those transparent elements.
Leaked images reveal the headphones in classic black and white. These are the same two colors available for the standard Headphone (1), indicating that Nothing isn’t planning to shake up the color palette for the Pro model.
In terms of materials, the headphones are anticipated to be made from aluminum and scratch-resistant glass. They’re also said to have an IP52 rating, meaning they’ll be resistant to dust and a bit of water.
While the overall look is reminiscent of the original Headphone (1), the Pro model is expected to introduce a number of hardware upgrades beneath that familiar exterior.
Three-driver audio system
The most exciting upgrade might just be in the audio hardware. According to the latest leak, each earcup is set to feature a three-speaker setup that’s specifically designed to tackle different parts of the audio spectrum.
This system is rumored to include dedicated drivers for both bass and midrange sounds, plus an xMEMS driver for those crisp high frequencies. xMEMS technology, which utilizes a solid-state micro speaker design, is becoming a go-to in high-end audio gear.
On top of that, the Headphone (1) Pro is expected to support Hi-Res Audio and Sony’s LDAC Bluetooth codec, enabling compatible devices to stream top-notch audio wirelessly.
Additionally, it seems the headphones are being fine-tuned in partnership with Metropolis Studios. An earlier leak hinted at this collaboration for the Pro model, although Nothing hasn’t officially confirmed it yet.
10 microphones for ANC
Noise cancellation is set to get a significant upgrade with the Pro model. Featuring 10 microphones, these headphones will employ adaptive active noise cancellation, allowing them to detect external sounds from various directions and adjust the noise cancellation in real-time.
Additionally, they’re expected to come with a transparency mode, so you can hear the world around you without needing to take them off.
And there’s more! They’re also said to include spatial audio and head tracking, which means the sound will shift as you move your head, providing a truly immersive listening experience.
Bluetooth 6.1 and wired audio
The Headphone (1) Pro is rumored to feature Bluetooth 6.1, which means you’ll have the flexibility of both wireless and wired audio.
You can look forward to a 3.5mm headphone jack, plus a USB Type-C port. Both of these connections are expected to handle audio, giving you multiple ways to enjoy your music.
The USB-C audio support could really come in handy, especially with the latest phones, tablets, and laptops that have moved away from including a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Up to 60 hours of battery life
According to the leaked specs, we could be looking at an impressive 60 hours of battery life when the ANC is switched off. However, it’s still a bit murky whether this number is based on AAC playback or LDAC.
To put things in perspective, Nothing claims that their standard Headphone (1) can last up to 80 hours without ANC when using AAC. But if you switch to LDAC, that number drops to around 54 hours.
So, until Nothing clarifies the codec and the testing conditions, we shouldn’t jump to conclusions about the 60-hour battery life for the Pro being a straightforward upgrade.
Expected price and launch date
The Nothing Headphone (1) Pro is rumored to come with a price tag of €349, which translates to about $397 at the current exchange rate. This would make it pricier than the original Headphone (1) and position it more in line with other high-end over-ear headphones.
