Xiaomi’s Redmi Buds lineup is always one of my favorite budget wireless earbuds. I just reviewed the Redmi Buds 6 Pro model, which really impressed me, but I still prefer some features and improvements that I think need to be upgraded in the next generation, Redmi Buds 7 Pro.
With Xiaomi consistently refining its audio products, the upcoming model could bring much-needed enhancements in sound quality, noise cancellation, and overall user experience.
In this article, I’ll go through the expected release date, possible pricing, and the features I hope to see in the Redmi Buds 7 Pro.

Redmi Buds 7 Pro Release Date
Here’s a quick look at when the previous models were released:
- Redmi Buds 3 Pro – Launched in July 2021.
- Redmi Buds 4 Pro – Announced on May 24, 2022, and went on sale a week later.
- Redmi Buds 5 Pro – Released in 2023.
- Redmi Buds 6 Pro – Officially launched on November 27, 2024.
Looking at this pattern, Xiaomi tends to refresh its Pro earbuds roughly once a year. Since the Redmi Buds 6 Pro came out in late 2024, it’s likely that the Redmi Buds 7 Pro will follow a similar schedule, possibly launching in late 2025.
Of course, this is just an estimate, and we’ll have to wait for Xiaomi’s official announcement to know for sure.
Redmi Buds 7 Pro Features I Want to See
The Redmi Buds 6 Pro were a solid pair of budget earbuds with great sound, strong ANC, and useful features like dual-device pairing and spatial audio.
But after my testing, I’ve put together a list of improvements that could make the Redmi Buds 7 Pro even better.
1. Better Bluetooth Connection
One of the biggest complaints about the Buds 6 Pro was connection issues, especially with Android devices.
Some Reddit users reported that the earbuds would randomly disconnect or that one side would stop working. However, in my testing, I didn’t experience any issues—perhaps Xiaomi has already fixed this with a software update.
For the Buds 7 Pro, Xiaomi needs to fix these stability issues to ensure a smooth and reliable connection across all devices.
2. Wireless Charging Support
At this point, wireless charging should be a standard feature, even in budget earbuds.
It’s a small but super convenient upgrade that makes charging easier, especially for people who already use wireless chargers for their phones. Adding this to the Buds 7 Pro would be a great move.
3. Improved ANC Performance
The Buds 6 Pro had decent noise cancellation, but it wasn’t the best in its price range. It struggled with higher frequencies and wind noise.
If Xiaomi can fine-tune the ANC to handle these better, the Buds 7 Pro could compete more closely with premium options.
4. A Proper Gaming Mode
The latency on the Buds 6 Pro was higher than expected, making them a bad choice for gaming.
Many other brands like OnePlus and Realme have added dedicated gaming modes with lower latency.
Xiaomi should do the same for the Buds 7 Pro to improve the experience for mobile gamers.
5. More Reliable Touch Controls
While the Buds 6 Pro had touch controls, they were too sensitive, leading to accidental touches. The volume swipe feature was also awkward to use.
A more refined touch control system with better placement and adjustable sensitivity would be a big improvement.
6. Longer Battery Life with ANC On
Battery life was decent on the Buds 6 Pro, but turning on ANC drained it faster than expected. Many users only got around 4-5 hours of playback with ANC enabled.
If Xiaomi can extend that to at least 6-7 hours, it would make the Buds 7 Pro a much better option for all-day use.
7. Clearer Call Quality in Noisy Places
The Buds 6 Pro did well in quiet environments, but in busy areas, some users noticed occasional crackling sounds during calls.
Xiaomi should improve the microphones and noise reduction technology to ensure clear and smooth call quality in any setting.
8. More Noticeable Head-Tracking Spatial Audio
The Buds 6 Pro introduced head-tracking for spatial audio, but the effect was barely noticeable.
If Xiaomi can refine this feature and make it more immersive, it would add real value to the Buds 7 Pro, especially for movie lovers and gamers.
Should You Wait for the Redmi Buds 7 Pro?
I already said that the Redmi Buds 6 Pro is one of the best budget earbuds out there, especially when compared to expensive premium brands. If you need new earbuds right now, the Buds 6 Pro is still a great choice with solid sound, good ANC, and useful features.
But if you already own the Buds 6 Pro, upgrading might not be worth it just yet. While the Redmi Buds 7 Pro could bring improvements like better ANC, more stable connections, and wireless charging, nothing is confirmed.
If you’re not in a rush, waiting for the Buds 7 Pro could be a smart move. Xiaomi usually updates its earbuds every year, and if they fix the weak points of the Buds 6 Pro, the new model could be even better. But for now, the Buds 6 Pro is still one of the best options in its price range.
