At first glance, the NeoBuds Pro 3 look… fine. They’re available in black and Edifier’s “Starlight” white, and the overall design sticks closely to what we saw with the Pro 2.
The charging case is compact and solid, with a trapezoid shape and rounded edges. It feels sturdy enough in the hand, though it doesn’t exactly scream “premium” the way some rivals do.
The most eye-catching detail is the RGB light strip on the front of the case. You can change its color in the app, and while it’s fun to play with once, I’m still not convinced it adds much beyond novelty. It’s there, it works, and if you like a bit of flair, you might enjoy it. Personally, I forgot about it after the first day.
The earbuds themselves have that slightly sci-fi look Edifier seems fond of—almost like a prop from a low-budget ’90s science fiction show. They’re distinctive, I’ll give them that, but again, they don’t quite match the price Edifier is asking.
Build quality, however, is solid. The ABS plastic feels tough, the finish is clean, and nothing creaks or feels flimsy.
Edifier has switched the controls from touch to a pinch gesture on the stem, which I actually like. It’s more deliberate and reduces accidental inputs.

I wore these for long listening sessions and several runs, and they stayed put without causing fatigue. Isolation is also improved over the Pro 2, which helps both with sound quality and noise cancellation.
They’re IP54 rated, so sweat and dust aren’t an issue, but these are still not earbuds you’d want anywhere near a swimming pool.
App and Setup

The biggest improvement, though, is in the midrange. Vocals are more forward and intimate, no longer feeling recessed or thin. This alone makes music feel more engaging and natural.
Treble remains crisp and airy, with good sparkle and detail. Importantly, it doesn’t get sharp or fatiguing, even at higher volumes. Resolution and clarity are strong, and micro-details come through nicely, especially with high-quality sources.
Spatial audio is onboard with head tracking, but this is one area where Edifier still feels a step behind the best.
The effect can sound a bit hollow at times, and head tracking occasionally lags just enough to pull you out of the illusion. It’s interesting, but not something I left on all the time.
Overall, the NeoBuds Pro 3 sound very good. The problem is context. At this price, “very good” isn’t always enough.
ANC and Transparency

Gaming and Video
Low-latency gaming mode makes a noticeable difference. In games like PUBG and Mobile Legends, audio sync is tight, and positional cues—like footsteps—are easy to pinpoint.
That sense of space also translates well to movies, where dialogue remains clear and action scenes feel immersive.
These aren’t marketed as gaming earbuds, but they handle it better than expected.
Battery Life
Battery life is better than the NeoBuds Pro 2, no question about it. In my usage, I consistently got around three to three and a half hours per charge with ANC on. The case provides multiple recharges, pushing total usage much higher.
Edifier advertises up to 36 hours with ANC off and 24 hours with ANC on, but those figures include the charging case.
There’s no clear, honest single-charge number, which makes comparisons harder.
Fast charging is supported, and a short top-up can get you back listening quickly, but don’t expect miracles.
It’s an improvement, but still not class-leading.
Final Thoughts
The Edifier NeoBuds Pro 3 are not bad earbuds. In fact, they’re quite good. Sound quality is noticeably improved, features are packed to the brim, call quality is excellent, and battery life is no longer a deal-breaker.
The issue is the price.
Edifier’s biggest strength has always been value, and at this higher price point, that advantage starts to disappear. When you’re asking premium money, you’re inevitably compared to the best—and that’s where the NeoBuds Pro 3 fall just a little short.
If these drop in price, they become a much easier recommendation and a genuinely compelling option. At full retail, though, they’re harder to justify when there are stronger all-rounders available for similar money.
