Vivo TWS 5 brings 60dB ANC, 3-device Bluetooth, and Hi-Fi audio version

Vivo has introduced the TWS 5 earbuds, the latest addition to its growing audio lineup. Launched alongside the Vivo Watch GT 2 and Pad 5e tablet, the new earbuds succeed the TWS 3 from 2022 and arrive with a focus on high-end sound, smarter connectivity, and stronger noise cancellation.

A design built for comfort and clarity

The Vivo TWS 5 features a sleek in-ear design with angled stems for a secure fit. Each earbud comes with an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance, making them suitable for daily use and light workouts. Inside, they house 11mm dynamic drivers paired with a ceramic tungsten acoustic diaphragm for improved clarity and bass response.

Vivo offers two variants — a standard model and a Hi-Fi version. Both have been tuned by experts from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and Vivo’s own Golden Ear Acoustics team, ensuring a refined sound signature.

Hi-Res audio meets smarter noise control

Both editions are Hi-Res Audio certified and support LDAC, but the Hi-Fi version goes a step further with LHDC 5.0 support, developed in collaboration with MediaTek for Dimensity-powered phones.

Each earbud packs four microphones, enabling up to 60dB of adaptive active noise cancellation (ANC) — a noticeable improvement over previous generations. Users can manually switch between three ANC levels to suit different environments. The earbuds also include AI call noise reduction, capable of blocking up to 99% of wind noise, ensuring clearer conversations.

For gamers, there’s a 42ms low-latency mode, promising synchronized audio during fast-paced gameplay.

Smarter features and multi-device connectivity

Beyond audio quality, the TWS 5 introduces several smart functions. The earbuds support Spatial Audio, 10-band EQ customization, Adaptive Audio (which adjusts playback based on ear canal shape), live translation, and touch controls for effortless management.

One standout addition is Bluetooth Multipoint connectivity for up to three devices simultaneously — a rarity even among premium earbuds. This includes full compatibility with Apple devices, laptops, and smartwatches. When paired with a Vivo smartwatch, the TWS 5 can read messages aloud, notify users of calls, and even warn about elevated heart rates.

While they still use Bluetooth 5.4 LE instead of the upcoming Bluetooth 6.0 standard, their multipoint stability and compatibility make them some of the most versatile earbuds available.

Battery life and colors

Battery performance remains solid. With ANC enabled, users can expect 6 hours per charge and 24 hours total with the charging case. Turning ANC off doubles playback to 12 hours per charge and 48 hours total.

The Vivo TWS 5 is available in Simple White, Pure Black, and Slightly Smoky Purple, priced at CNY 399 (around $56 / €48). The Hi-Fi version comes in Simple White and Deep Sea Blue, retailing for CNY 499 (about $70 / €61).

A solid step forward for Vivo audio

With a refined design, Hi-Res sound, adaptive 60dB ANC, and multi-device connectivity, the Vivo TWS 5 pushes the brand’s audio lineup into more premium territory.

The Hi-Fi model, with LHDC 5.0 support and studio-grade tuning, particularly stands out for those who demand superior fidelity.

For now, both versions are available only in China, with global availability yet to be confirmed. But based on the specs and pricing, Vivo’s latest earbuds look well-positioned to compete with the best mid-range and premium ANC earphones on the market.
