I’ve tested quite a few budget earbuds over the years, and most of them promise a lot more than they deliver. But every now and then, one comes along that actually surprises me — and the Haylou Mori Pro are exactly that.

For under $30, these earbuds come loaded with features you’d usually expect from models costing two or three times as much — active noise cancellation, Bluetooth 5.4, gaming mode, a six-mic setup, and a clean companion app.

After a week of daily use, here’s what stood out, what didn’t, and whether they’re worth buying.

Design & Comfort

Right out of the box, the Mori Pro make a good impression. The case is compact, matte-finished, and feels more solid than I expected for this price.

The earbuds themselves are lightweight and comfortable, and they stayed secure even during a light jog.

Touch controls are responsive most of the time, but I did have a few accidental taps when adjusting them.

The fit is generally good, though you’ll definitely want to experiment with the ear tips — getting that tight seal is key to both bass response and ANC performance.

Sound Quality

I’ll be honest — I went in with low expectations, but the sound quality genuinely impressed me. The 12 mm dynamic drivers deliver a lively, bass-driven profile that’s fun for everyday listening.

The lows hit hard, the mids are warm, and vocals sound surprisingly clean. The highs could use a touch more sparkle, but for a sub-$30 pair, it’s very respectable.

Haylou Mori Pro Sound

If you love bass-heavy tracks, you’ll probably enjoy these right out of the box. If you prefer a balanced or treble-rich sound, though, you might find them a little too warm.

Sadly, the app only offers preset EQs — no custom equalizer, which is one of the few things I wish Haylou added.

ANC & Transparency Mode

Active noise cancellation is, honestly, better than I expected. It won’t completely mute a busy street or airplane cabin, but it does a good job cutting down constant low-frequency sounds — like fan noise or traffic hum.

The transparency mode works too, but voices sound a bit artificial. Still, for quick conversations or crossing the street, it’s perfectly fine.

It’s not “Sony-level” ANC, but it’s absolutely usable for commutes, studying, or working in a café.

Call Quality

I made several calls using the Mori Pro, both indoors and outside, and most people on the other end said I sounded clear.

The triple-mic setup on each earbud really helps reduce background noise, though strong wind can still sneak through.

For Zoom meetings, voice notes, or regular phone calls, they’re more than capable.

Gaming & Latency

As someone who watches a lot of YouTube and occasionally games on mobile, I appreciated the low-latency mode. It makes a real difference. Lip-sync issues were minimal, and gameplay felt responsive.

It’s not at the level of dedicated gaming earbuds, but for casual players, it’s more than good enough.

App Experience

The Haylou Sound app is simple but functional. You can toggle noise modes, enable gaming mode, and switch between sound presets like “Standard,” “Bass,” or “Treble.”

Haylou Mori Pro App

Unfortunately, the lack of custom EQ still feels like a missed opportunity. I would’ve loved to tweak the sound to my taste. Still, firmware updates and pairing worked smoothly during testing, and that’s what matters most.

Battery Life

Battery life turned out to be another pleasant surprise. Haylou claims 7 hours per charge (ANC off) and around 5–6 hours with ANC on, with the case providing roughly 28–35 hours total.

In my real-world use, those numbers checked out. I used them for music, calls, and gaming throughout the day, and still had juice left by the evening.

The USB-C charging port is fast and reliable, though the case hinge feels a bit light — not fragile, but not exactly premium either.

Should You Buy?

The Haylou Mori Pro prove once again that you don’t need to spend a fortune for decent sound, ANC, and modern features. They offer a balanced mix of performance, comfort, and battery life, wrapped in a compact design.

Sure, the ANC won’t blow away premium rivals, the sound leans bass-heavy, and the app lacks customization. But when you consider what they cost, these are small compromises.

If you’re a student, commuter, or anyone looking for an affordable pair of earbuds with ANC and gaming mode, the Haylou Mori Pro are easy to recommend.
