Realme Buds Air 8 Pro release date, price and features

In my Realme Buds Air 7 Pro review, I already mentioned that they were really impressive for their price range. These earbuds brought several premium features usually found in flagship models, but at the same time, a few areas left room for improvement. That naturally raises excitement for the upcoming Realme Buds Air 8 Pro, where many of us are hoping Realme takes things a step further.

In this article, I’ll share my thoughts on the possible release date, expected price, rumored specs, and the features & improvements I’d like to see in the next generation. So, let’s get started.

Realme Buds Air 8 Pro release date

  • Realme Buds Air 5 Pro: August 23, 2023
  • Realme Buds Air 6 Pro: June 20, 2024
  • Realme Buds Air 7 Pro: May 27, 2025

So if we look at the previous release pattern, Realme usually launches their Buds Air Pro Series in mid-year, so I guess there are high chances we could see the Buds Air 8 Pro launching in July or August 2026.

Realme Buds Air 8 Pro Price

Looking at the last few generations, Realme has kept the Buds Air Pro series in the affordable premium segment:

  • Realme Buds Air 5 Pro$69
  • Realme Buds Air 6 Pro$79
  • Realme Buds Air 7 Pro$89

So, following this trend, it wouldn’t be surprising if the Realme Buds Air 8 Pro comes in around $99. Realme usually adds new features and slight upgrades with each generation, so a small price bump feels natural while still keeping them budget-friendly compared to flagship earbuds.

Realme Buds Air 8 Pro Features & Improvements I Want to See

1. Better Sound Tuning Out of the Box

The Buds Air 7 Pro had excellent hardware with its dual-driver setup, but the default tuning leaned too heavily towards sub-bass. This made mids and vocals sound recessed and slightly metallic. For the Buds Air 8 Pro, I’d like to see a more balanced Harman-style tuning right out of the box so users don’t need to spend time tweaking EQ settings.

2. Improved Transparency Mode

While ANC was impressive for the price, the transparency mode was weak and often introduced static noise. Competing earbuds in the same range provide a more natural “open-ear” experience, so I hope Realme improves this feature to make conversations clearer without removing the earbuds.

3. Refined Controls and Finish

The glossy finish on the Buds Air 7 Pro made the slide-to-volume gesture tricky and often led to accidental touches. A matte or textured surface would provide better grip and accuracy. Along with this, improving the responsiveness of touch controls would go a long way toward a smoother user experience.

4. More Natural-Sounding Mids & Vocals

Many reviews pointed out that vocals sounded slightly metallic and unnatural. Since mids are critical for vocals and instrumentals, the Buds Air 8 Pro could benefit from richer and more natural mids, ensuring a well-rounded sound profile.

5. Stronger Battery Efficiency

Battery life on the Buds Air 7 Pro was decent, but with ANC on, playback dropped to around 4–5 hours. For the next model, I’d like to see at least 6–7 hours with ANC enabled, along with improved case efficiency to avoid faster depletion.

6. Less Gimmicky AI Features

The Buds Air 7 Pro came with AI-based features like live translation, but in reality, they were inconsistent and more gimmicky than practical. Instead of adding half-baked features, Realme should focus on refining core functions like sound quality, connectivity, and mic performance.

7. Cleaner Voice Prompts & Mic Performance

Another small annoyance with the 7 Pro was the distorted voice prompts when switching ANC modes. For the Buds Air 8 Pro, smoother prompts and clearer outdoor mic quality would really polish the overall experience.

Should You Wait for Realme Buds Air 8 Pro?

Now the most important question — should you wait or go for the Realme Buds Air 7 Pro?

If you’re someone who needs a new pair of earbuds right now, the Realme Buds Air 7 Pro is still a solid choice. They offer premium design, strong ANC, deep bass, and good overall value for the price. Yes, they have a few drawbacks like recessed mids, an average transparency mode, and gimmicky AI features, but with EQ adjustments, they can still perform really well.

On the other hand, if you’re not in a hurry, it might be smarter to wait for the Realme Buds Air 8 Pro. Going by Realme’s yearly upgrade cycle, the next generation is likely to launch around mid to late 2026, and that version could fix a lot of the issues we discussed — especially better sound tuning, longer battery life, and refined controls.
